
Showing up for the Detroit area in a meaningful way
Each year, Flagstar Bank sponsors Culture on 4th, an entire block of the Arts, Beats & Eats festival in Red Oak, Michigan. Culture on 4th is all about diversity: global performance, food, art, music, and more. BL created activations within this space to draw in visitors, bring attention to DEI in the community, and build awareness for local small businesses. As the centerpiece, we designed and crafted both a pathway and an interactive cube that celebrated Detroit, the surrounding towns, and the wealth of global influences that makes the community and its culture unique. We planned irresistible photo-ops for visitors, commissioned local influencers to capture content throughout the day, created a sweepstakes to encourage guests to interact with the brand, and decked out the entire block in bold, vivid Flagstar signage. The event earned Flagstar a 299K social reach, 55 earned media placements, 268 sweepstakes entries, and 68 social posts—all huge leaps from the previous year’s numbers.
